My partner booked us both in after my long stint working overseas. Our aim was to visit extended family in the Horncastle/Lincoln area. Unfortunately Covid struck and we tried to defer the 2-night booking to another date. We were most disappointed to be told we couldn't do this due to their non- cancelation policy, we weren't aware we couldn't change the booking. In the circumstances we feel this to have been very harsh and it means we will never use this establishment again and this has reverberated throughout our friends and family in the area. One wonders whether the ill feeling generated by the management is worth the gain, particularly as we would have re-booked.

Due to an unexpected case of Covid, we were unable to stay at the hotel, so the stars are not based on actual experience. Our room had been booked on a 'non refundable' basis. As we still needed to visit this area to see family, we contacted the hotel to see if we could transfer all or some of the payment to another date. We understood the terms of the original booking but hoped there would be some flexibility for Covid and were informed that it was up to the hotel. There was no flexibility at all and a rather curt response by the manageress. Needless to say, we won't book this hotel again.
