Customer service wasn’t the greatest but the room is spacious and modern. The complimentary breakfast was good with limited selection. The location of the hotel is convenient but do have to be more cautious when walking during the night time.

My friend and I had the misfortune of staying at Hyatt Place Montreal Downtown. During our stay, we have encountered a number of unsatisfactory service provided by this hotel. Firstly, we’ve booked a room with two queen beds and have received confirmation e-mail about this reservation. At check-in, we were advised that the room we have reserved is no longer available as the hotel was fully booked. The only room they can accommodate us was one with king bed and sofa bed. As a result of the inconvenience, the gentleman at the reception offered us free parking pass. Although we were not happy with the new arrangement but we still accepted it. Secondly, when we entered the room there was a dirty stain on the washroom floor. In addition, the sofa bed was defective and we were not able to fold it out properly. We then went back to speak to the same reception regarding the concern. He then offered to switch us to another room with two queen beds - which we have originally booked for. Thirdly, when we entered the second room, there was a dirty towel on the floor and no hot running water from both the sink and shower. Again, we contacted front desk and raised our concern. The same gentleman from the reception came and tried to fix the issue. After running the water for another 10 minutes, there was still no hot water. At that point, we were beyond frustrated but still really appreciate the help from the front desk gentleman as it is beyond his control to fix these problems. This type of service from this hotel is completely unacceptable in many levels. It is definitely not the type of service that we would have expected from Hyatt. We have never experienced anything like that from other nearby hotels and we are very disappointed from this experience and will never stay at Hyatt Place Montreal Downtown again.
