816工程景區介紹
816工程景區位於重慶市涪陵區白濤街道，作為新中國自主設計建設的在山洞裏部署的核原料生產基地，絕密代號“816”。1966年由中央軍委批准建設，全稱是“三線建設進洞的原子能反應堆及化學後處理工程”。它是新中國“三線建設”1100多個項目中的典型代表。當年全國先後調集6萬餘名建設大軍奔赴白濤，開始長達18年的工程建設。工程經歷了急建、緩建、停建三個階段，總開挖面積10.4萬平方米，洞由18個大型洞及130多個導洞、支洞、隧道及豎井組成，主洞室高達79. 6米，到1984年完成建築工程量85%，安裝工程量約60%，總投資達7.46億元人民幣（當年物價）。因工程設計和建設的複雜性、艱鉅性被世人稱為“洞裏三峽、地下長城”，“深埋大山的和氏璧”，更具有神奇、神祕、神聖的“三神”的特點。
102元件儲存池
CCTV“走基層”特別報導《銘記》欄目取景處，面積1326平方米。它主要的功能是：接受從反應堆中卸下來的元件和非工作塊，以及非工作塊的存放和分類。102廠房分又為兩部分：運行操作間和水池。各水池設有水閘門（共9台）供水池輪流充排水之用，整個水池共設400個帶桿吊桶位置，供長期存放原件和非工作塊之用，元件存放一年後，經專用水下通廊發送至818廠。
8號環道
位於整個工程的後處理區。體量巨大，雄圍壯觀，美輪美奐的燈光恰到好處的勾勒出洞室的宏偉壯觀，不防到此一遊，探尋原生態洞穴的神祕與神奇。
反應堆鍋底
位於主反應堆的三樓。鍋底上方管廊林立、蔚然壯觀。玻璃廊道的搭建讓遊客有了更好的體驗方式，靜靜漫步鍋底，俯瞰悠悠核光。
中央控制室
位於反應堆的九樓。這裏曾放着當時國內先進的計算機機體，為整個軍工洞體的“心臟”，是協調整個核燃料製造過程的中心樞紐。
104核發電廠房高31.2米、寬25米，該反應堆是一個生產發電兩用堆，按照“以核生產為主、發電為輔，先生產後發電”的原則，利用它的核餘熱進行發電。

Definitely worth a visit, its a unique experience and one of the very few places you can see and get a sense of the turbulent period of recent Chinese history.
This place is relatively easier to visit and it doesn’t take much time. It can be reached from Fuling North station, and connected via taxi, or bus. I recommend to take taxi or book a shuttle bus because the public bus is infrequent, may be combined with Wuling mountain. The facility can be empty at other times outside the time slot, but it becomes crowded once the tour starts. It’s for those who like engineering architecture and history. There are no English tour guide, but QR code with English translation + audio guide is available. The procedure is to take a free shuttle bus to the ticket inspection area, and then take the same shuttle bus back after it’s finished
Perfect location in the 816 Old Town and conveniently located near Wuling Mountain. The staff are so friendly and welcoming as well. The rooms were great and well setup. The only feedback is that the breakfast is a little small work limited options. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and works recommend to anyone.
This place really has the natural beauty that is worth making an effort to see. It's well organised, booking on ** means you really don't need to stand in any queues because you can go directly to get on the bus (as long as you have your passport).
This was a very unique site to see. I learned a lot about how the site was built and the history of Chinese nuclear development. The place looked so cool for photography too. They have free tour guides within the site. But only on Mandarin.
