Li Zijian Art Museum – A Hidden Gem for Realism LoversI was genuinely impressed by the depth and skill on display here. The realism in the artworks is breathtaking — every brushstroke feels intentional, every detail tells a story. Whether you’re an art student or just someone who appreciates masterful technique, this museum delivers. Quiet, thoughtful, and deeply inspiring. Highly recommend if you love seeing talent up close.
Love this art museum! It is exquisite from the exterior to the art pieces and spaces indoors. A total gem in the bustling city of Changsha
Art Pieces in this modern museum is unbelivable.
A friend recommended this museum and we were glad we went. The permanent collection is, of course, of paintings by Li Zijian. I’m not an art expert but admired both the quality of his paintings and the various themes, including a series of paintings of his (now deceased) wife and their daughter. This exhibit is free but does require an advance reservation, which I was able to make in English on **.com. Another attached building holds some other exhibits. On September, 2026, one of those exhibits was of hyper-realistic oil paintings by Wang Yidong. These are chinos were free and did not require a reservation. The Li Zijian Museum is also only a short walk (200 m?) from the Xie Zilong Photography Museum, but when we were there most of the galleries were closed for some sort of renovation. This museum does charge an entry fee but is free for old enough seniors.
