From Red Gate Hongmen to Zhongmen, it took me 2h or over 3000 steps. It was quite hot in the beginning. Make sure you have enough water. On the way there were few temples and rock craves. After arriving Zhongmen, i took 30min break and had a noodle. The remaining part took me another 2h or over 4000 steps to reach Nantianmen. It was really challenging to climb up the steep steps. There were trees and rocks on the side throughout the journey. At top of mountain, it was a bit foggy. This is definitely an unforgettable experience to climb 7862 steps

Climbing Mount Tai was an absolutely unforgettable experience and a true bucket-list achievement. The journey is physically demanding, but the well-maintained stone steps make the ascent manageable, and the breathtaking scenery at every turn provides the perfect motivation to keep going. Reaching the summit, especially in time for sunrise, is nothing short of magical. Watching the sun pierce through the sea of clouds and illuminate the ancient temples and inscriptions is a profoundly rewarding sight that makes every drop of sweat worthwhile. The spiritual and cultural atmosphere is palpable, and you can truly understand why this mountain has been revered for millennia.

We bought the entrance pass from **.com when we were on the train to Tai’an from Beijing and receive the confirmation instantly. After checked in hotel, we went to the park and able to use it without any problems. For non-Chinese citizens like us, you’ll need to go to the manual checkpoint on the far left, show them your passport, and scan the QR code (or let the staff will typed in your passport #). If the entires hiking path is paved, but the upper part near the mid hill(ZhongTianMen中天門)and the top are quite steep, can be challenging. We went there to challenge ourselves so we hiked the entire trail, and next day our calves and thighs are too sore to walk. We saw a few descending hikers whose legs were shaking as we hiked uphill. There are plenty vendors and restaurants at each summit, and the costs are pricey like how other attractions all over the world usually jack up the price. The vendors are very helpful but not pushy. The scenery of the park is breathtaking.
