伯明翰市中心新街公寓（可自助入住） (Central New street Apartment in Birmingham with Self Checkin)

Beware of this accommodation! I paid £97 for one night as my mum was in the hospital nearby to its supposed location - shown as Birmingham University NOT New Street which is in the city center! When I left the hospital late evening the map led me to a dead end at the back of a building on the campus and was telling me to get out and walk the final few yards. It was dark and I was alone. (I’m female) I then discovered I had a stream of correspondence from the hotel asking for a time of arrival and the £250 deposit needed before releasing self check in details. Alarm bells truly began to ring, so I called them by phone - no reply. I contacted TRIP but got little joy at that point and then found myself with no accommodation at 9pm after stressful day with my ill elderly mother. I believe this to be a scam and that I would never see the £250 again. Interestingly all the emails from the hotel were headed with a warning in bold red type saying not to pay for additional charges ?? TRIP are hopefully refunding the £97 to my bank card and have been helpful to be fair, however I’m disappointed to see the accommodation still active on the site.
