Place is stunning! Whoever mans the Whatsapp and other communications is absolutely horrible at it, doesn’t matter what I do or how I speak that person just refuses to communicate like a professional representative. At the end I had to walk around and speak to different staff members just to make bookings and figure stuff out. Bed bugs unfortunately, at first I thought it was my imagination but it got worse and when I got home the stuff stopped crawling over me, so I need to treat my stuff. In the middle of the night the toilet inlet pipe decided to burst, luckily there was a stop valve. Again the place is beautiful.

Our stay at Desa Oculus was overall a decent one. The service staff were all great and we felt very welcomed and taken care of by everyone. Our gripe was not on the staff but the building itself. The shower area constantly smelt like sewage, making it really uncomfortable and unhygienic to shower in. We didn’t feel clean stepping on the shower area bare footed. There was also only one door shared for the shower area and the toilet area = when someone is showering, there’s no door for the toilet area, so you can’t really use it together. The sound proofing was also less than ideal—our room was located right below the restaurant and the dragging of the chairs were real loud, making it hard for proper rest. This accommodation was decent for a one night stay, since the views and aesthetics were great but personally would not recommend more than a night if you are looking for a restful 永安.

Really love my stay here! The staff is so accommodating and the service is so good! Love the view, a place that will be just nice for 2-3 days stay. Cleanliness of the pool might be needed more often and perhaps room shoes that is thicker since its cold at night and the floor is too cooling at times. Perhaps also room's lock to be changed to something easier to lock as we faced a difficulty in locking the room door. There's 1 night whereby we didn't realise it wasn't locked at all.

I am sure that this hotel was very nice when it first opened but it has been poorly maintained. The floor in the room and bathroom look dirty as do the soft furnishings. The towels and bed linen all need replacing; the towels were grey and the bed linen made me itch. There was a bit of mold around the top of the refillable water bottles. The doors for both the balcony and the entrance do not meet the floors so there are flies and mosquitos in the room. It is also impossible to have the balcony door open to enjoy the fresh air for this reason. The view from the balcony is very nice, and the restaurant is an excellent place to sit and enjoy the view and the open air. The drinks are good and the breakfast was fine, but the dinner was the worst Indonesian food I had in 2 weeks in Bali. The massge was great! There is also not much to do in the area (especially if you do not have a motorbike) after hiking Mount Batur.

I love this place! We stayed for a night and it was really relaxing and chill with the cold weather during first week of December. The staffs are so nice and the room is clean and comfortable with beautiful view of the mountain/volcano. The breakfast is perfect! We also had dinner there with fire on the table to keep us warm as it was cold. They also gave me bread for my tour to mount Batur! I would visit again!

I was impressed to find that the property looks exactly as advertised on the website. The rooms, amenities, and surroundings are beautifully maintained, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. My only minor grievances were the abundance of flies, which seems to be an issue throughout Kintamani, and the lack of elevators. However, the friendly staff were always willing to lend a hand with luggage, making the stairs manageable. Overall, Desa Oculus is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a serene retreat amidst nature's splendor. The staff's warm hospitality and the resort's picturesque setting make up for any minor inconveniences. Highly recommended!
