Good value property in a pleasant location, it's a conference/wedding venue mainly. The mansion rooms have a more modern look apparently.

Upon check in, the receptionist was rather blunt and kept sighing at me whenever I spoke. Check in took much longer than I would have expected, especially as I had paid online. The room seemed fairly nice upon first view. Closer inspection showed it to be not as nice as I first believed. The toilet didn’t flush properly, took a bit of an arm workout to make it actually work! The bathroom lighting means that as soon as you pull the curtain across the shower, you’re left in the dark. Housekeeping let themselves into my room (stayed 2 nights) at 9am on a Saturday morning. They were not amused when I told them I didn’t need any housekeeping done, I had another night to stay. They were quite rude, didn’t seem to think they were disturbing anyone? Only some of the lights worked in the room. I spoke to reception about this issue and I was told “we can assess the situation after your check out” The toilet paper in the room felt like something from the 1990s. Could be worth investing in a better brand of paper products. The price of the food put me off even trying it. There is no way any food can cost so much! Actual daylight robbery! I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Room was very warm, even with the radiator turned off. Had to ask for toilet paper as none was supplied in the room. The toilet paper then supplied was thin and hard. Cheap. Although flushing the toilet was actually as hard as the paper itself, not for those without upper body strength.

No matter if you are staying for one night or multiple, this hotel has everything you could need. Fast, free WiFi and spacious rooms.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful surrounding. Ducks are resident here, along with some deer. It is a quiet place and the rooms are very spacious. Would recommend.

Staff was really helpful

A brilliant discovery. We booked and paid for a nearby hotel via another .com only to be let down. We arrived at this hotel and were blown away with the grounds and wildlife having travelling from Cornwall. We were shown to our room, which was very tasteful and comfortably furnished. The staff and management were very approachable and could not do enough for us. We will be back.

Love staying here. Fabulous grounds, clean and quiet. Breakfast was super busy however was very tasty and Tracey was very helpful.

Hotel was huge, couple of things that really disturb me: 1. Toilet were old and it stinks of damp 2. There were no window to open for fresh air evening time it really gets hot the room needs fresh air to circulate, I had to open the doors to get fresh airs. 3. The most disturbing thing that occurred when there were cleaners and other stuff came in the room without knocking the door there were no display to put outside when the room was occupied I stayed there for 2 nights the stuff just gets in with their master keys. Very unprofessional. 4. There were no bottles of water at the table normally when I enter most hotels there was water but this one there were nothing. 5. Make sure you bring along your charger for your mobile, normally hotels have USB this days. Other then that receptionist was friendly to give her charger.
