鴨子酒店 (Duck Hotel)

When I arrived at the Duck hotel I was very excited. Moda & Kadekoy where it's situated is an amazing area in Istanbul. However, my dream turned to dust and the list why is extensive: The AC automatically cuts out after an hour and at night when it's 20 degrees Celsius you need that AC to stay on! So had to keep getting up in the night to switch it back on. Also there was a stench from the bathroom of fetid drains which seeped into the bedroom. Next there was a number of unfinished building works in the room which made it look like the hotel didn't really care about how comfortable your stay was, from exposed wires to foam filler. Also there was a steady stream of indifferent young men manning the reception in the lobby (which also had a cafe where no-one seemed to go, I wonder why???). When I reported a broken shower holder which had meant the shower head fell onto my hand bruising my palm, I was assured it would be fixed. It never was and the particular young man I told avoided eye contact with me whenever I entered the building. To top it off the lift broke down twice and as we were on the 7th floor had to wait for it to be fixed rather than use the very steep and dangerous looking stairs (especially with luggage). So all in all if you want to stay in Moda or Kadekoy I wouldn't recommend staying here, unless you're ok with sweaty nights, disgusting stenches, shoddy workmanship and CBA service.

The location can not be any better. We were very happy with our choice, lovely room. We slept very well. Oguzhan the receptionist was super helpful snd sweet. Probably next time we come to Istanbul we will go back to Duck Hotel. The area around the hotel has the nicest walking opportunists and great people watching.

Yastıklar baş kokuyordu. Temiz gelmedi bana. Odada daha onceden yerlesmis bir sigara kokusu vardi. Yerlerin haliflex olmasi iyi degildi. Giderlerden lagim kokusu geliyordu. Perdelerin karartmasi iyiydi.yatak ve yastik rahatti.otel sessizdi.konum çok merkezi.

Останавливалась в отеле на одну ночь, все понравилось. Хорошая локация, оживленный район, Мигрос, многочисленные рестораны/кафе в пешей доступности. До метро 15 минут пешком. Номер предоставили на 6 этаже, номер комфортный, тихий, даже с видом на море.  Постель, полотенца чистые, приятно пахнут. Кровать удобная. Душ, горячая вода подается моментально, ждать нагрева не приходилось

We felt very comfortable in our room, surprisingly quiet in Istanbul where all streets are busy with cars. And it is a nice walk from the ferries and close to the train station to Ankara.

兩星期前預訂三晚雙床客房， 在訂單內已註明要求高樓層；及有獨立調校温度空調。 酒店未有跟指示安排高樓層房間，重點是酒店根本沒有獨立空調，只有中央空調提供暖氣。而酒店預留二樓馬路邊有窗房間，叫我們開窗取替。 因在馬路邊，非常嘈吵， 根本無法休息。 因我們凌晨到步加上剛坐完長途飛機， 身心疲累， 為求盡快可以解決，只好額外付費提升入住高樓層無向路邊有窗房間。 無奈開窗後才發現窗外好多海鷗及烏鴉，不斷叫喊，令到睡眠質素極差😫，而房內設施破損不堪，浴屏只剩一半，洗澡後地板全部弄濕，差點滑倒，而水渠經常有難聞氣味湧入， 討厭至極。 更離譜是第二天早上，未有告知下停止供水， 說是要維修停水， 入住時完全沒有提及 😤！！而當外出時已掛上 ‘’清潔房間‘’掛牌 ，但是仍然無人清潔， 每次回到房間後，要信息催促才有人更換毛巾、提供廁紙、倒垃圾。。。。 我們是晚上航班離開，在酒店沒有人訂房下，想要求延遲退房， 希望基於以上他們種種不當 ，能酌情處理 ，但是酒店堅決拒絕。今天還有這樣服務態度素質！！ 無語加無奈。。。。

Начнем с плюсов: хорошее расположение в районе Кадыкёй, непосредственно на улочке, по которой ходит трамвай Т3. У нас был номер с террасой и видом. И вот что-то, а вид действительно был - черепичные крыши района Кадыкёй, чайки, Босфор - это всё буквально 11 из 10! Сам номер задуман очень хорошо - большая площадь и логичная планировка, терраса опять же. Но состояние номера прям на троечку - в ванне немного проломлена стена, видимо потому что потекла труба внутри кафельных стен, и иначе до нее было не достать. Экран у душевой кабины прикреплен будто бы не на той стороне (не там, где вода, а на противоположной), шторы отваливаются с крючков, террасная мебель с тканевыми подушками, и местами на этих подушках следы какуль чаек. На вторую ночь кончилась горячая вода в душе (она текла, но не горячая). Думали, что это бойлер и вода закончилась - но она так и не нагрелась с ночи до утра. В общем суммарно очень хорошее расположение, и немного убитое состояние хорошего номера, за которым просто следят спустя рукава.

The staff is friendly and helpful. As for the hotel itself: -door key card stops working every other day -frequently out of hot water -constant sewage smell from the bathroom -missing lightbulbs in the room -the cleaning of the room is so so

Ok, so it’s not the worst hotel in the world, but tbh, it’s close. Don’t get me wrong the location is amazing, but my God, the hotel is not nice. It looks ok in the photos, but the bed is hard, the curtain fell off the wall, we could hear men talking so loudly outside the of our door all night till 4am, the room stunk of cigarette smoke, maybe someone was smoking in the room next to us? Honestly it was terrible, and the worst part, we found a used condom on the floor. We swiftly escaped. I know it’s very cheap, but honestly pay a little more and stay in a nice hotel, honestly you will thank me!
