Walking into the hotel there was a musky smell at reception and that was first thing that put me off. It was either musky or badly chosen cheap air freshener My friends room was not reasy and had not been made up , bed looked slept in. Had to return to reception for a 2nd room but really not apologised enough. Shower - v v poor , barely a trickle of water and just looked like it needed de scaling. Great that iron and board in room but iron was pretty useless and didnt heat up enough to be effective. We ate in the stables pub. Food and wine was passable but only just. Was not worth leaving a comment as I was made to feel bad just because I said the wine didnt taste right. Tired looking furniture. Bed was nice though and room was clean. Tv had good channels. Overall passable for money we paid but place needs some investment and doesnt llook cared for. Would not return sadly.

The hotel was beautiful, with lovely grounds perfect for a run or a walk. It also offered free parking, which was really good. The service was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised to find an iron and ironing board because we needed to iron some of our outfits. Overall, it was a great stay, and we would happily return.

Obviously quite a grand hotel in its day. Now a hotel/conference centre but still OK. The rooms don’t match up to the rest of the building but clean and comfortable. Main restaurant a bit steep but there’s a nice pub in the grounds

Love,y, grand hotel that is a steal if booked at the right price. Old fashioned but comfortable room with good bathroom and shower. Option of eating in the hotel restaurant or at The Stables pub in the grounds.

It says they have a swimming pool, but they don’t. Room was newly decorated so better than most of the older rooms. Good for an overnight stay.

Lovely hotel and excellent value if you can book it at the right time. Very luxurious for the price I paid. A little bit out on a limb for access into Leeds city centre but plenty of bars and restaurants in nearby Headingley. The main restaurant at the hotel is quite upmarket but the attached pub The Stables is excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
