Lovely spacious room. The hotel itself was immaculate, and the complimentary use of the spa facilities (1hr) is a nice touch. This hotel is right in the centre of Manchester, so there are lots of things to do within walking distance.

The hotel is in the center with easy access to shops, restaurants and sites. The facility is amazing. The room is nice, clean, and spacious. The SPA was great. The only downside is that the front desk wasn’t friendly. We asked for quiet room. We arrived early and waited but we were given a room facing the train track with noise till 11pm.

Lovely hotel would recommend to anyone visiting Manchester

The hotel is beautiful on the outside and the lobby area is stunning. Afternoon tea was great but the rooms are dark, dated, and dull. The windows don’t open, the lighting was very dim. We stayed in the superior twin room but I feel the amenities were lacking and the bathroom could do with more counter space to put your things. Could also do with more hooks for towel/clothes. Overall nice on the outside but I wouldn’t stay here again based on £240 a night.

Absolutely loved our stay at The Midland Manchester – everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and couldn’t do enough for us. Every member of the team made us feel genuinely looked after, and the service throughout was faultless. The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud – we had some of the best nights’ sleep we’ve had in ages! The room service was prompt, professional, and the food was delicious – a real treat after a long day exploring the city. Speaking of relaxing – the spa was absolutely divine. Clean, calming, and wonderfully designed, it was the perfect escape. The massage was one of the best I’ve ever had – incredibly soothing and tailored to perfection. If you’re in need of some proper pampering, this is the place to be. Location-wise, you couldn’t ask for better. Right in the heart of Manchester, everything is within walking distance, yet the hotel still manages to feel like a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. All in all, The Midland is a true gem. Comfortable, elegant, and run by an outstanding team. We’ll absolutely be back!

The hotel and room was lovely, hairdryer wasn't working and seemed to be melted on the side, good location, spa all full on day of arrival and no complimentary birthday gift as requested but apart from small issues, was a nice stay

First time at the Midland, stayed 1 night and it was a very nice stay. Room didn’t have a view but it was only one night so not too bothered. Shower was decent, everywhere clean and bed was very comfortable. We paid for breakfast too and plenty of choice available and again very nice and filled us up for the day. Overall a brilliant stay

I recently stayed at the Midland Hotel in Manchester, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected from such a well-known establishment. The service was lacking, and the room had several maintenance issues that significantly impacted my stay. First off, the room itself had a broken overhead bed lamp. Additionally, the shower cubicle had a broken sliding door, which was not only inconvenient but also created a safety hazard. It's frustrating to stay in a hotel that doesn't pay attention to these basic maintenance issues, especially when you’re paying for a higher standard of accommodation. To make matters worse, we ordered an ice bucket to the room, which took 45 minutes to arrive — only for it to be filled with melted ice. When we asked for a replacement, it took another 30 minutes to get a fresh bucket. This delay, combined with the poor quality of service, left a bad impression. Moreover, I was shocked to discover that basic amenities such as a dental kit and shower cap were charged at an additional £3 each. For a hotel of this reputation, I did not expect to pay extra for these essentials, which should be standard in any suite. What was particularly disappointing was the complete lack of personalization during my stay. I had booked the suite to celebrate my birthday, but there was no acknowledgment or special gesture from the hotel, which made the experience feel impersonal and underwhelming. While the location of the hotel is great, the poor service, lack of maintenance, additional charges for basic amenities, and the absence of any special touches for my birthday were major letdowns. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected much more attention to detail and a higher level of comfort. I hope the management addresses these issues, as it has the potential to be a great stay with the right improvements.
