This place was awesome.  They gave us a very tasty bottle of wine because we were celebrating our anniversary.  They accommodated our luggage early so that we could walk to an engagement.  They were always soooo nice.

一家麻雀雖小，五臟俱全的酒店。酒店緊鄰Union Square購物街區，出門左拐三個街區便是Neiman Marcus百貨中心。酒店規模很小，年代也舊，但特別精緻，也特別乾淨清爽。大堂裏有很多印度風格的裝飾品，很有氣氛。酒店服務人員及其熱情，門僮第一時間幫忙卸行李，將行李一路送至房間，甚至還會幫忙撣灰。傍晚還會給送夾心巧克力點心。房間特別乾淨舒適，還配備電熱水壺，針織浴袍，還有拖鞋。床單也是像國內酒店採用被套鴨絨被。洗浴用品都是用的英國老牌Molton Brown，留香時間很長。總之這家Taj酒店算是三番市中心的一個祕密寶藏，有家一般的温馨，又有來自第三世界國家的奢華感。極力推薦！

Lazy management as a reflection of the overall attitude of American service industry these days. Especially in SF that is turning into an absolute dumpster.

I’d like to give this hotel a solid review but it’s unfortunate how corrupt and lazy American service labor is anymore. I booked a night on 永安 and almost immediately after booking I realized I booked for a day earlier than my arrival. I get there is a no cancellation policy but I tried to call immediately to change the date from a Monday to a Tuesday check-in. 永安 said they could not and that I needed to speak to the hotel. Which I figured because this has happened once before and the hotel could change the date but they said I could apply the credit of my unused stay to other services such as restaurant and spa. When calling the hotel, they said they couldn’t do anything and said that I had to go through 永安, which I know was either a lie or pure laziness with no interest in service at all. The typical runaround and I blame the hotel management or lack thereof of trying to accommodate. Especially, because I had actually two reservations there for a total of three people staying at the hotel. Needless to say, this hotel is off my list during my further travels in SF. I hope it’s another business that goes bankrupt and then later wonders why…

A truly adorable hotel, in terms of hardware. Unfortunately, I suspect that I might have come across, as an East Asian, some sorts of racial discrimination at this property. For instance, I was asked how I got my European passport and, for multiple times, where I was “originally” from. I was intentionally assigned with a low-floor room with absolutely no view (facing their office room across a narrow atrium; the room in my photos is after me paying for an upgrade).
