We had a small issue with the twin bed upon arrival, but the front desk staff resolved it quickly and was very kind. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The sea view during breakfast was beautiful and made the morning especially enjoyable.

Arrived friday. Staff friendly and place looked clean Had room booked away from noise as requested. Room spotless, beds clean. Shower hot and powerful. The heating came on in the evening, but the room was cold. Has lift and access for disabled but narrow corridors to rooms. There is no restaurant in the evening. Breakfast served in morning 8am onwards. Saturday, staff rushed and miserable, elderly gent seemed to be running place he was very abrupt. Parking huge issue in area, having to wait on street for available spots, also difficult if disabled as all steep hills about to walk. Again, there was no evening restaurant, so we had to venture out for food (weather baltic) and unable to move the car for fear of not getting space when back. Just eat the app. And few takeaways within 15 min walk, again huge problem if have difficulties walking. If you're staying here, stay mid week as staff seem a lot better and less rushed. The hotel has some history and some great views over the sea front and castle.

Nice hotel room with a nice view. Only downside was the parking space was quite small. Finding parking was difficult. Overall, I enjoyed my stay very much.

Booked a room for a couple - a double bed with sea view. Staff - Reception staff Scott was very polite and ensured an easy check-in. During check-out there was no one at reception but there was a polite girl tending to guests at the restaurant who helped us check out without issue. Staff behaviour/competence 9/10.  View - the view was nice but the window was terribly unclean with dried up bird poop blocking and ruining the entire purpose of the view. 4/10 Room - bedding was clean and comfortable but the carpets were very dated and looked unclean. Needs a full re-carpeting. 5/10 Bathroom - extremely tiny bathroom and shower. Dated amenities and shower head. Abysmal water pressure. Temperature of hot water was not easily controllable. Basin had separate hot and cold water taps. All the fittings were dated. There isn’t enough space to sit on the toilet normally. Rating 1/10.  Service - we did not eat at the restaurant or use any room service. However housekeeping was terrible. They didn’t change our bedding or clean up the bathroom at all! Only changed the towels and that was it! Even the worst BnBs don’t do that. Housekeeping service 2/10 (and I’m being kind for scoring this a 2).  Entertainment - poor quality TV and lack of adequate channels or subscription services. Internet was intermittently disrupted and not very reliable. Live singer was alright. We didn’t drink or visit the bar so cannot rank those.  Very dated and drab hotel. The building itself is just falling apart from both the inside and out. Good for cheap and short stays. However, needs a full renovation from the ground up.  I respect the people working there, and I understand that they’re only trying to make a living, but the housekeeping service really needed some telling off.

Excellent location and a stunning view from our room ( 117 ) however the hotel and room are extremely dated and desperately need attention, they are clean enough for a 3 star hotel....suspect it will take a lot of investment to carry out this modernisation...alltold it was a pleasant stay and should concentrate on the budget market.
