Very helpful, friendly staff. Just a slight problem with the bathroom design having the WC sandwiched between a tiled wall and a large glass shower wall. Maybe remove the glass shower wall to create a wet room effect?

I had high hopes for Gillieru Harbour Hotel, but the experience was let down by poor communication and lack of maintenance. Despite emailing ahead to request two separate beds, we arrived to find a double. The room smelled strongly of damp, triggering my asthma, and the bathroom had a persistent sewage odour. While visibly clean, the smell made the space feel unhygienic. A simple but important detail that was overlooked, setting the tone for what became a dreadful stay. The décor is discombobulated, modern in places, but elsewhere feels like a time capsule with dated, coloured linen, broken furniture and a poor use of space. I reported the issues within 10 minutes of arriving and was told we could change rooms the next morning. However, 10am the next day I was later told this wasn’t possible. Another frustrating lack of consistency from reception. The pool area offers lovely views but this is undermined by rusting facilities and peeling paint. We were on a room-only basis, so I can’t comment on the food. The silver lining was the cleaning staff, friendly, professional and clearly doing their best given the circumstances. Overall, the hotel has potential but until serious improvements are made to guest service and maintenance, I wouldn’t return.

I had a fantastic stay at Gillieru Harbour Hotel — I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, relaxed, and honestly spoiled (in a good way). What stood out: • Location: Absolutely unbeatable. The hotel overlooks the harbour in St. Paul’s Bay, which means beautiful sea views as soon as you step out onto the balcony. It’s also just a short walk to lots of restaurants, bars, shops and the bus stops.  • Cleanliness & Comfort: The rooms were spotless; every day the room was cleaned and made up to a high standard, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms modern and tidy. Little touches (like fresh water in the room) made a difference.  • Staff & Service: The people working there were friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care. Reception was informative, restaurant & pool‐bar staff were welcoming and always ready to assist. It felt like a family‑run hotel in the sense that service had warmth.  • Facilities & Views: The sea view rooms are worth the extra cost — being able to look out over the bay, watch the boats, enjoy sunrise/sunset from your balcony is a treat. The pool terrace is lovely for lazy afternoons, with a pool bar, sun‑loungers, and great lounging space.  I highly recommend this and would love to come back again!

Nice hotel, with a fancy lobby. Clean large room with ocean view. Excellent place to stay. The village is not very historic with scattered shops and restaurants. But overall a nice area. We recommend the Xemxija Hill Heritage Walk and Fort Campbell to explore non tourist stuff!

Gym - no gym, although there is park with pull-up bar etc nearby. sauna €10 for 30mins Breakfast- I didn’t have Beaches - not much nearby Staff very friendly

Ich war während einer Sprachreise in dem Hotel. Es ist älter aber gut gepflegt. Hotelpersonal ist freundlich. Zimmer sind sehr sauber, haben alles was man braucht und sind geräumig. Aber halt einfach. Der pool ist gut und sauber. Negativ: die Zimmertüren sind gefühlt Papier-dünn. Man hört nachts alles auf dem Flur. Das einfachere Restaurant ist gut, die Mitarbeiter aber unverschämt: 23:00 kommt man auf einen Absacker und wird nicht mehr bedient. Auf Nachfrage nur für Gäste des teuren Restaurants. Das Frühstück sollte man bleiben lassen. Kaffee ist beschissen, Rührei aus dem Tetra-Pack...
