Hotel is walking distance to the beach, plaza, children park. But it’s very old and needs urgent renovation. The room was spacious, clean and beds were fine. The bathroom was clean but have very old fittings. Shower taps were very hard to turn on, knobs were falling off in doing so and took us a while to operate and when we managed to turn that in, it started making very loud noise. Bath tub is small. Some of the ceiling cornice were falling off from the bathroom. There wasn’t any microwave in the room, bar refrigerator is an old model frost ones, the hairdryer was an ancient one, making loud noise and the other side of the hairdryer was broken. It was a bit unsafe to use. No tissue box, bin was available either.

Disgusting rundown accommodation. Don’t take ground floor room, Peeling wallpaper, bathroom floor tiles cracked, shower floods floor, no toilet paper and broken button, curtains falling off window. Building and rooms require extensive repair. Springs of bed broken. Sliding door did not lock. TV does not turn on. Exterior also run down- Broken fences, pothole drive, long grass, pool needs repaint Should have gone camping. Would not recommend.

Motel is very sad even though location is great. Poor maintenance, stains on benches, shower leaked, carpet squares poorly laid with gaps between carpet squares. Only one coffee cup provided, no spoons, bisciuts or handtowels. Damaged paintings and wallpaper, rough unsatisfactory repairs. Weeds everwhere in grounds. Office only manned for minimal times. Would not stay there again and is definitely not 3 star.

Booked this based on location & price. Hubby read the reviews & said it didn't sound great. I like to give things a chance & was only 1 night. We arrived and were greeted by Julie. She was pleasant. Our family room 212 was spacious, facing the car park. Kettle, toaster, microwave & WIFI worked, TV looked decent gave up trying to watch anything on it, and used our laptop & phones. Bathroom was fair, mattresses were fine, you get what you pay for, it's a 2 star motel not luxury end. We just needed a bed and shower for the night & we got it. Pool was nice, kids had a ball, we left early in the AM. We drove down the block and realised the bad reviews are for the EL LAGO Water Resort, which is the tourist park & that looks shady not for the EL LAGO Water Motel we stayed at. Cheers

Real friendly staff. Hotel is bit run down and worn but location is awesome and it’s very family friendly with nice big pool . We would stay here again.

I booked here at the last minute because I couldn’t get a room in one of the more ‘high end’ hotels. Yes it’s old, yes it’s quite run down. It was clean though and the location was great. It also has a really beautiful pool. I spent the previous night in one of those high end motels and hated it - the bed at El Lago was so much more comfortable and the AC was freezing cold (which I wanted). Overall I’d say if you aren’t fussy on the looks it’s worth staying there.
