温徹斯特南部的馬威爾酒店 (Marwell Hotel Winchester South)

Lovely staff and great hotel location for anyone that’s a bit more car centric. Despite not using the on site facilities as much, the staff were lovely, friendly & helpful at any hour. The room was spotlessly clean, and had decent basic amenities, but the room I stayed in was starting to look a little tired. Decent value for money however, especially for the time of the year & a weekend.

Came here for our first wedding anniversary as got married here the year before. Beautiful setting. Food was lovely. Service also was spot on. My only concern would be some of the grounds could do with tidying up as looks a bit tired and neglected

Awful, dirty, smelly place. Terrible smell of insecticide everywhere, in the corridors and in the rooms. 1) The toilet would not flush from the moment I checked in until I checked out, and was constantly blocked and I had to keep going to reception to get them to unblock it. There is no phone in room, so one has to walk a long way to reception every time the toilet won't flush. I mentioned the issues to reception - although I mentioned the blocked toilet several times, nothing was done. Completely blocked toilet that will not flush. 2) Shower / bath - the bath did not drain after having a shower or a bath - it takes a long time to drain, leaving it half full of soapy grey water for at least 20 minutes 3) Sink in bathroom - I used the plug to fill the basin, and then realised there was no way to get the plug out, no button to release the plug. So, dirty water was standing in the now full sink, and I then had to brush my teeth using the bath, which also was not draining. 4) Dirty room - When I checked in, the carpet looked dirty and had not been vacuumed, there were crumbs from the last guest, like crushed biscuits on the carpet. The bathroom floor was disgusting - I guess because the tiles are black, they don't bother to clean it ever. I spilled a bit of sun lotion and went to wipe it off the floor with a towel - and the floor grunge rubbed off on the towel, making the towel black. Disgusting. Bring shoes to wear in the room and in the bathroom after your shower. Everything was dirty with limescale, and muck. 5) Toilet roll - for a 2 night stay, I was provided half a roll of toilet paper only. They cleaned the room on the morning of the 14th May but did not bother to provide toilet paper, although it was almost empty. Again, a long walk to reception to get more. 6) Breakfast: At breakfast this morning at 7:30am, 15 May 2025 - the coffee was empty, apple juice was empty. milk was empty - at 7:30am when there were only a couple of other guests in the room. If it was busy, I can imagine this happening, but breakfast had only just started at 7am. Why weren't enough supplies put out for guests to have breakfast? When the woman came back with the milk container, she had put about about 2cm of milk into the jug - why not fill it up when more guests will be coming??? I had enough for my coffee, but it was almost empty again. It's just surprising that Marwell Hotel rent out a room in this dirty condition with non functioning plumbing. And that the breakfast is lacking when it just started 30 minutes prior. Really disappointing stay.

Location-wise the hotel is a good place to settle and you can enjoy the nature of quiet and peaceful. Recommend!
